how to stop alpha from widening?

i'm doing #165434 and the further i progress, the wider the bracelet is becoming. the number of strings already makes this bracelet a bit thick, and i want to keep it as thin as possible. (i'm doing flat alpha technique and straight edge technique)

How did you start it? Maybe the base strings were too close together in the beginning.

@halokiwi i did a triangle start. it is my first time starting my bracelet like that so maybe that’s why?

Did you do the triangle start in the normal or alpha method? Normal patterns with the same amount of strings aren't as wide as alphas, so if you did a normal triangle start, that might be the reason.
