What string do you use besides floss?

I’m a knitter/crocheter and I have cotton yarn in lots of colors on hand and have enjoyed using it for bracelets. I’m noticing in pictures that some of you all must be using string bigger than floss. I’m curious what you all like to use.

Most people use embroidery thread. It's thinner than most yarn you would use for knit or crochet.
