I am going to try using clamps for my bracelets , and I would need the patterns to be about an inch maybe a tad bit more, to be on the safe side. What are the typical number of strings on a normal pattern that would get me around that 1 inch mark. TIA!!!

You can measure the width of normals you have tied before and use that to figure out how many strings you need for one inch. It depends on material and tightness.

it depends on the size of thread you use and how tight your knots are, how i find out is by getting a normal pattern bracelet ive made before, measuring across and then dividing by the amount of strings. e.g. i have a 12 string regular pattern bracelet and its 9mm in width, 9 divided by 12 is 0.75, so if i wanted to make a 15 string bracelet i would use 0.75x15 to get the rough width in millimetres (11.25mm or 1.1cm). i hope this makes sense!!
