So I've tried everal alpha patterns before and they don't seem to ever work out... Any first alpha suggestions please??

I recommend using the straight edges technique, which really helps me. Also definitely use the same size strings. I also don't recommend you to start with alphas that are over 10 strings and over 3 colors. Some beginning patterns are:

@OstieKnots you make straight edges when you tie bf knots on the farthest string to the left and fb knots on the string farthest to the right. if you’re still confused check out masha knot’s video tutorial on flat alphas because she teaches the straight edges technique in that video. hope that helps!

@izzygirl if you want to change colour you fold the string of your old colour behind the bracelet so it's out of the way. Then you take the string of the new colour, tape it down next to bracelet and continue knotting with that string instead.
