Hi yall! im new ish here. I'm wondering how you all finished a bracelet (both normal and alpha, i've been doing lots of alaphs recently) and keep it do the strings don't fray away? I saw someone use fabric glue once. I saw someone use hot glue once. The video tutorial i saw said DO NOT use clear nail polish since over time it get sharp. Thanks!! -Jeans |

You could also use a higher quality thread (which seems to help) such as DMC thread. Embroidery thread is also meant to be separated for the use of embroidery techniques, so perhaps if you try different thread it could have a different outcome? I’m not sure what other thread that you could use though. I’ve seen people use yarn, but that’s not idea for normal friendship bracelets

DMC actually splits a LOT. You can braid your ends, or use twist ends. If you want the ends not to be visible, using fabric glue and glueing them to the back works well (only for alphas, of course). There is tutorial on here on how to finish alphas with macrame, that's really cool.If you don't want the thread to split while you're working, I usually make a little knot at the end. Since it gets cut off once I'm done it doesn't really matter much. |
