when I am starting thicker bracelets how do I keep the same tension when I am close to the tape??

I usually tie the knots slowly, squeezing them slowly, so that the threads do not move, so I keep the knot tensionI hope I helped you❤ 👍 |

You could also try using a clip board instead. I feel they hold the string tighter.
