That depends what kind of dowels they are. If they are from a wood that splinters easily, be careful and preferably use a small saw, because that way, it shouldn't be an issue. But if you're lazy like me, you can also just cut them with a wire cutter (which is not good for the wire cutter) or better yet, gardening shears. After that, if you want, you can sand the edges down with sandpaper to have a smoother edge (and it also helps a lot against splinters). If you can't be bothered to get sandpaper, a nail file will also do it, but again - not good for the nail fail. (Also make extremely sure there are no more wooden splinters on the file before you use it again on your hands). I hope that helped! |

I bought a 12/1 multi tool and used the small saw and pliers it comes with to cut down mine, then sanded it 🙂

if they are skinny dowels, I usually just cut them with a pair of scissors and if they edges are sharp or prickly I file them down with a nailfile, but you do whats easiest for you!!!! 🙂

If you have long dowels that you want to use to make a small wall hanging, there are a few steps you can follow to cut the dowels to the right size. First, measure the area where you want to hang the wall hanging and determine the length of dowel you will need. Use a pencil to mark the desired length on the dowel, making sure the mark is straight and even.Next, use a handsaw or a power saw to carefully cut the dowel along the marked line. Be sure to use a saw blade that is suitable for cutting wood, and take care to follow the line as closely as possible. If you are using a handsaw, you may want to clamp the dowel in place to keep it steady while you cut. Once the dowel is cut to the desired length, you can proceed with making the wall hanging. This will likely involve attaching the dowel to a base, such as a piece of wood or cardboard, and then adding any decorative elements you want, such as beads, feathers, or yarn. When the wall hanging is complete, you can hang it on the wall using nails, screws, or adhesive hooks. By following these steps, you can easily cut your long dowels to the right size for your small wall hanging project. https://acaciawooddb.com/ |
