If your using this technique with an alpha pattern, you can use that extra string as your leading string.

You do it the same way you would with an even number of strings. One side is just going to be longer than the other, but to be honest it isn’t really noticeable. If you want to make a loop, here’s a tutorial https://youtu.be/6DQ9Iby8s8QOnce you’ve done the loop, make a knot to close it and do the triangle ends the same way you normally would, just with one more string on one side |
