Simple Chevron on a D lobsterclip swivel keyring... Help!

Hello, I am classing myself as a beginner as it has been many years since I've made a bracelet and I've only just discovered (not yet attempted) Alphas. Basically I saw the D lobsterclip swivel keyrings on pintrest and etsy and was really inspired! I bought everything I need and have threaded on to the keyring ready to start a simple Cheveron... BUT... i have 8 threads to knot with (quite a large cheveron) and I'm aware that if I start working from the outsides into the center (like you do on a Chevron) it will not make a very good 'V' shape as the D keyring is flat (and I'm not starting from a knot)... So, I was thinking about starting in the middle, working out to each side, then, when on the outter string after creating an 'inner 'V' shape, THEN work from the outsides in, as usual. like this?: x = knotted string _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ (top joining knots to keyring) _ _ _ x x _ _ _ _ _ x x x x _ _ _ x x x x x x _ x x x x x x x x Then the idea would be to work outside in like this: x x x x x x x x N x x x x x x N _ N x x x x N _ _ _ N x x N _ _ _ _ _ N N _ _ _ N = New knot Am I going mad? Would this work? It looks wrong to me... I can't figure it out! Halp! lol ๐ |
