How to start a non key ring keychain with an odd number of strings

Does anybody know how to start a small pattern/keychain with an odd number of strings? Like how @cirish did in pattern #57857? Also, do you guys know how to do the keychain start like in https://youtu.be/oqdaOjr2U94 that YouTube video with an odd number of base strings? Thank you so much in advance!!

you could do triangle ends. masha knots has a starts and finishes playlist and she talks about how to do it with uneven amount of strings too

yeah look up masha knots on youtube specifically "triangle ends for alpha" but basically you just group the strings into two groups and with the extra string you add it to the middle so there is sorta like 3 groups and continue knotting the triangle end like you normally would.

For the loop at the beginning, use the extra string in the loop as your leading string (make it longer) and then do your triangle end with one string in the middle
