every time I try making a normal bracelet I notice it started curing instead of being completely straight. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem or if anyone knows how to fix it.

Hi, this is a common problem especially if the pattern has mainly one knot type for a few rows. For example the candystripe has a tendency to curve in the direction you are knotting in.

I think what can help is to try to pull the bracelet straight down instead of to either side while knotting.

Hello! I do face this problem all the time. I would try tying my knots a little looser, so they are even. Also, being careful while knotting, and being aware of how the structure is, really affects the way the bracelet curves. 🙂

Hello, so usually if it curves on a bracelet like a chevron then one side of knots is tighter than the other. You can fix this by making all your knots slightly looser. While you are making the bracelet, keep checking to make sure the rows are straight and neat because this will help the bracelet stay straight and flat. You can also try pulling the string your knotting onto a bit tighter to make the sides straighter, and make sure you pull the string down and not to the side.
Hope this is helpful 🙂

it curves because you are pulling to tight. If that is not the case then i do not know (sorry)

Mine curve all the time! I try to keep my knots kind of loose but also firmly in place of that makes sense haha! Usually when i finish my bracelets, i’ll straighten it by either putting heavy books on it or using a hair straightener

There could be two things happening one is as @halokiwi said- patterns with predominantly one direction of knot do sometimes have a tendency to curve naturally. However, you can also have this problem in a balanced pattern, like a chevron for instance, if your knots are tighter on one side than the other. If, for example, you make a chevron and it curves to the right that’s because your backwards knots in the right side are tighter than your forwards knots on the left. And vice versa if your chevron were to curve to the left. If it’s not the pattern, make sure you’re trying to make all of your knots an equal tension.
