Hi, I was just wondering how you would make a wall hanging with an odd number of base strings on a wooden dowel? As in how would you tie the last string on?

You can use the second strand of the last string as your leading strand to make the number of base strings off

I like that technique the best because it doesn’t require your base strings and leading strings to be the same thickness

What I do is I normally just tie the even number on and cut one strand off really close and you won’t even notice it 😉

I attach the leading string the same way I attached the base strings, but leave one tail as long as the base strings to serve as the odd base string. The other end of that string is kept long and becomes my leading string.

I just tie a string on with a knot that you would use to tie a shoe lace
