most of the time cut your wingspan (ONLY IF YOUR MAKING A LOOP) but to be sure i usually cut an extra few inches

if you are not making a loop, cut a little more than half a wingspan

When folding it in half to make a loop I do the length of my arms sometimes longer depends on the pattern. When I don’t fold the strings, I do the length of my hand to my farthest shoulder. Hope this is helpful ❤️

i always just make mines too long because the more string you have the better so you never run out when knotting

I usually make mine wingspan length + a few inches when folding the strings in half. If you’re doing a pattern with diamond shapes I would suggest making it a bit longer than that since diamonds use up more thread.

I always do a wingspan, but since I'm on the shorter side I usually add a few inches onto the wingspan.

If you are going to make a loop, or fold the strings in half, I would suggest doing a wingspan's length and adding a few extra inches. If you aren't making a loop or folding the strings in half then I suggest about half a wingspan's length with a couple of extra inches. I hope this helps 😊

well im not sure it matters very much, i usually just do a general length which is, the length from my hand to my shoulder.
