if you're on a computer there should be a button that says add a variation somewhere. unfortunately you can't add variations on the app

find the pattern you want to add a variation to then find the add variation button 🎠💌🎡🍓

If you have clicked the variation button on the website it should bring you to the pattern generator. There is usually a couple bars with colors in them if you click on one of those it will bring up the color wheel so you can make a different color.
