How long did everyone cut their strings for this one. I always get so stuck with normal patterns😅

@knoddedbym you can start with slanted ends and add braided ties to each end-- video tutorials on #31230 and #15341

Or if you want a loop, just knot around all the strings like normal, including the single colors. Then very carefully pull the single strings through the loop section to their corresponding sides so that the ends are hidden inside the loop. When you start knotting the pattern, be very gentle with the first couple rows so you don't accidentally pull the single strings all the way out of the loop 😄

i have a question, how would i go about dealing with the odd number of colors in the pattern? like the three light teal and one dark teal, or the one orange

how would you go about segment knotting this pattern? I don’t want to do row-by-row, but i’ve never segment knotted a pattern that isn’t symmetrical.

@nishu92 it’s a more advanced technique to make a teardrop with uneven colors, but the concept is still similar. Print out the pattern so you can isolate the string colors in order within the V shape where you want to start. For example, mark the center knot on row 13 and draw a V just below those knots, then draw your second V just above the center knot on row 15 (fyi row 13 is the same as row 5, just with the whole V showing) so you can see the string order between both Vs.

You can connect two pairs of double-length colors inside the loop by folding them in half around each other so the same colors stay on same side… colors A and C fold around colors E and D. Look up the Linked Loop Tutorial by Masha Knots, about 5 min into video she shows how to loop them together.

For the remaining single strings, just place them on top the others (longer end on the side it belongs) and knot the loop around them as you would normally. You can cut off the extra length of the singles, but I prefer to carefully pull the tail ends through the loop just enough so the ends of the strings are hidden inside. Check a video by Empatheo called Teardrop Loop While All Strings Are Different Colors.

When you start knotting the pattern, just be gentle with the first few rows so you don’t accidentally pull the single strings all they way out of the loop! 😁

@ponotama how did you create your teardrop loop when some strings have just one string for the color instead of two so that you can fold over the string?

@22Nika22 Thank you so much for the tips! ❤️ 🔥 I always struggle with measuring out the strings, and some always end up too short 😐

This one is so pretty omg 😍 some tips: the dark green and the orange string get used up really fast so make them 10 - 20 cm longer, also the blue strings get at the end quite short so I would make them also a bit longer than the rest of the strings. I did triangle ends on both side and twisted ties and it came out really beautiful 🔥
