@willowdove first I put white elmers glue on the bottom of the back of the wallhanging. Next I used a gift card to push the base strings back and down. Then I put another layer of glue over top of them. After it was partly dried I used my fingernail to go in and push it even more. That is very important in making sure it looks seamless.
