@marina49 for this pattern you need 11 base strings (the strings you knot onto) and leading strings (the strings you knot with) of 4 different colours.
If you want to make a loop, you can fold the base strings in half. You would need to cut 5 strings double the length you would usually need and fold them in half. These would be your first ten base strings. For the eleventh base string, you can use the other end of your first leading string.
It seems like you are not familiar with alpha patterns. To learn how to make alphas, I recommend watching MashaKnots' video on the flat alpha technique. Hopefully my explanations will make sense then. 😄
