I love Christianity, and I respect Taoism. This design is peaceful and the wings are so cool. Usually I don't comment but this alpha caught my eye today. I might make a color variation! Lots of Love sunnyline!! <3
I’m a Christian, but I don’t see the point in arguing over something like this; if you don’t like the pattern, just don’t use it—simple as that. But if someone else wants to use it, let them; it’s a personal choice. I don’t personally care for the yin-yang symbol, but I think this pattern is really great.
@xdarkfirex Thank you so much. And that's exactly how I saw it too, more as a cultural symbol than a religious one. But I understand that it might offend some people, even though, as KrazyKnots mentioned, the two symbols do exist together in a religion called Christian Taoism.
@Marthaa_Xx I completely understand your point of view, and I'm not offended. It's true that when creating this pattern, I used the Yin and Yang symbol more as a cultural symbol, without any religious intention. However, if it genuinely bothers or offends some people, I can ask for the pattern to be removed or modify it if that's possible.
@2006_Mandy yea I don’t think it’s okay to put a Christian cross on another religious symbol, as a Christian I don’t like this. But no offence to the creator of this pattern!
I think it’s fine because of how commonly used and widespread both symbols are, and I didn’t even know the yin yang symbol counted as religious. And it’s not like you were purposefully disrespecting anyone. Regardless, I think it’s a cool design 👍
So, I'm sorry if this may have offended anyone. I respect everyone's religion and beliefs, and I can understand that some people may not like it.
At the end of the day, this is simply a design, and everyone is free to like it or not. However, as Krazyknots mentioned, there is a belief known as Christian Taoism, which is more of a spiritual and personal approach.
That being said, I'm not promoting any religion or any particular beliefs. Everyone is free to choose whether or not they want to make my pattern.
Let's keep things joyful, positive and respectful! 😊
@KrazyKnotz never heard of that, do you have a source explaining it? I'm not anti religion but from what I know most of Christianity contrasts Taoism so I don't understand how both could co-occur
@2006_Mandy There is a religion 'Tao-Christianity' (or Christian Taoism) which is an syncretic spiritual path that blends the philosophical teachings of Taoism with the faith and practice of Christianity
