@gracelove@ive11@ajernst01_ This pattern definitely works as written! The only extra thing I did was do row 13 as directed before getting into the actual chain between fish. Meaning, I actually did the forward-backward knot with the blue over the orange, and then used the blue over all of them for the chain. I always see the number of knots in the chain as negotiable, and for this one, I went with 6 knots on each side. Another tip that may help is pulling the chain really tight before starting the next fish, as in, pushing it upwards over the bundle of strings to make sure there aren't any loose strings showing around the tail fins (otherwise part of the orange and black strings will show through, so I pulled those individual strings downward while pushing the chain upwards to tighten it).

I haven't tried the pattern myself yet because I have exams at the moment 🙁 I'm going to try to make one later because I tried this once before without a pattern, but maybe I didn't make the pattern here correctly. @UPDATE If you took my advice on the earlier part of the thread just know that the fish will no longer look like fish 😭I think THIS PATTERN IS A DUD 🥲 so sadddd
I started the bracelet and after finishing the first fish but the gaps made the fish spaced out and the pattern stops working... I might have fixed this problem by going back on a few rows.
Method: Do your first fish AS THE PATTERN SHOWS. When you do the last two knots of blue and orange (rows 13 & 15) on the pattern, jump to row 5 and don't re-knot the blue and orange on that row. If thats confusing then just finish your blue and orange knots on row 13 and jump to row 5 and do the WHOLE row including the first and last blue and orange knots of that row (5). I'm sorry if this is confusing, I tried my best to figure it out. 😭 ❤️
