@sophie_15 They are adding an extra string on both sides of the pattern in order to use the straight-edges technique. Basically just adding forward-backward/backward-forward knots on the edges

I’m confused on how some ppl have an extra row on the sides of theirs, and how the dots on the edges r more visible than others if that makes sense

@llama_2020 when you do triangle ends your strings don’t need to be the same on either side. They only need to be the same when you’re doing a loop.
