@faonshi it helps to print the pattern first, then you can draw the triangle for the shaped start where it cuts into the pattern and keep track of the string order on the diagonal. There's a video on #10388 that shows how.
Since the strings are not symmetrical, you can fold double-length colors so they hook around each other in the center, then same colors will end up on the same side.
You'll also have to add a couple single strings in the loop as well, since this pattern has an odd number of colors for A and C. Just place them with the other strings and knot around them all as you would normally when forming the loop. Then before starting the pattern, carefully pull those single strings through so the end gets hidden inside the loop, and be careful with your first knots so you don't pull the single strings all the way out. 😊
I made it a long time ago and I forgot to take a picture so it looks a bit old (female) I made a long time ago and I forgot to take a picture so it looks a bit old (male)
the lighting is a little orange but i love this!!! i made this one for my friend’s eighth grade graduation. i added a square sliding knot rather than a normal tie to make it easier to get on and off. the pattern was a little complicated but it wasn’t too bad. definitely not for beginners tho
@venla_elli Don’t worry! If you look at the edges you can see that the straight edge technique is already applied! If can try to use the same string and the same amount of tension into knots! I would recommend to do a start instead of taping it down to make the knots the same size because people tend to make the knots loser if you start out with tape! Hope this helps!
