@Neo7 this pattern actually is a normal pattern. Alpha patterns have a different structure. If you go to "patterns" and set the pattern type to "normal" or "alpha", you can see the difference.
This pattern is a normal pattern, but it is a shaped normal pattern. That means there are knots left out. You can either just leave loose strings or hide the unused strings in the edges. MashaKnots has good videos on shaped normal patterns, if you are interested in learning to knot them.
