Very cute pattern, but definitely on the difficult side! Wouldn't recommend for beginners if you have not experimented with a little more complex patterns as the multiude of forward-backward knots ends up messy if you aren't practised!
@isabellalu its because of the type of knots they used. fb and bf knots keep the string in the same general place, while f and b knots move it in the direction of the knot
