This is cute with the strings sticking out like in all those pictures, but I've been making it as a shaped pattern (so no sticking out strings), and it's working just fine... So I was curious how one is to tell whether a pattern is meant to be shaped or have the strings sticking out like that, because I have yet to see a pattern which wouldn't work just fine both ways...
