@ekirk1981. This technique works best with any multiple of 4 base strings (plus the leading string if it’s suitable for your pattern.) Since 30 base strings is not a multiple of 4, you would have to separate 2 of the strings (embroidery string has 6 tiny threads twisted together to make one big thread and you would separate any 2 of the base strings to turn 2 strings into 4 strings.) From there divide your base strings into groups of 4. From there you make a single square knot with each group of strings. After the first square knot row is finished, separate 4 of the outermost strings (2 of each string on both sides) and regroup all of the strings and repeat those same steps until you run out of string. I usually cut the fringe about 3/4 inches. And your done!

@LydLyd or @SxndraZ, I really love how you finished your work! I was looking a it more closely and it looks like you used some macrame type knots? I could be wrong, but, could you point me in the right direction to learn how to do that? I am working on a bunch of wall hangings and it would be neat to end them with something similar as you did. Super appreciated! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
