@N_ This is an alpha pattern. You only use forward knots and backward knots, and you tie strings onto base strings which don't move and are not visible. I think the other patterns you are referring to are Normal pattern which are made a little differently than Alpha patterns
i dont understand. unlike the other ones, this one has horizontal arrows. Usually they have slanting ones representing forwards and backwards knots. What knot is this?
