@straighta7 Hi! When making this bracelet, you need 12 strings in total to make full pattern. If you're making a loop beginning, you just need to have 6 strings, then when you make some forward-backward knots on all of them, you fold the loop and from each end you have 6 strings, making a total of 12. Normally, with a beginning like this, you would make a knot, then two knots, then +2 in every row (adding one string from each side) until you have all base strings available, right? Well, for a shaped pattern it gets a bit tricky, because you need to act like you're working only on 6 strings (the beginning dark blue knots in the pattern) and the beginning ends with 6 knots. What to do with the remaining 6 strings (the ones on the right, without any knots on them in the beginning)? You treat all of them (so these 6, plus ALSO that 1 string to the most right that has a knot on it - so 7 in total, it's very important!) as ONE string (for now). So when making the beginning, you make one knot like normal, and then you make the left knot on 3 strings, and the right knot on 9 strings. You proceed like normal, until the knot on the most right is having only 7 strings in it, and you can make the pattern. Make sure to often check the amount, because I miscalculated and went back a few times, first time making it can be very confusing :') I hope I explained it clear enough 🙂
