My story:
A single, knotted bracelet holds a memory of a time when the only thing that mattered was summer camp. In 2011, I learned the art of fingerloop braiding, a cool technique that transformed five simple strands of embroidery floss into a beautiful, square-shaped bracelet with a chevron pattern. I wove endless bracelets that summer, but the hobby, like the season, was fleeting, and the threads were soon forgotten.
Years passed, and the memory lay dormant until my stepdaughter came over, her arms cascade of summery woven and beaded bracelets. Seeing them brought that forgotten skill surging back. I was thrilled to share it, and we made a few together. While she lost interest, my own passion was reignited, and I plunged into a rabbit hold of my own. that's where I found Masha Knots. I immersed myself in her YouTube channel, captivated by the intricate, artistic creations.
My first creation was a double-sided minion alpha keychain, and I can tell you it was a test of patience. I cussed my way through it yet the feeling of accomplishment when I completed it was profound. I immediately embarked on another, and another, a testament to my newfound obsession. With every piece, I loved witnessing my own progression and felt the satisfaction of watching the knots take shape.
This is a brief glimpse into my story, but this page and my IG, @tied_intentions, are a living journal of my growth. My aim is to document the journey, from those simple camp bracelets to my latest creations. Join me if you'd like-I almost always follow back. After all, a little inspiration never hurts, especially for someone whose color pallet could use a little help.
