Introduction
I love to browse different bracelet makers to see inspiration. When I stumbled on this ‘zipper’ bracelet design by Jenna (@just.another.bracelet on Instagram), I tried to decipher the pattern. I was stumped, so I asked the creator herself and discovered that it was an original pattern! She gave me the pattern, and requested that if I do sell this bracelet, to make sure that I credit her. Unfortunately, her Etsy shop is now closed. So, I’m passing on the knowledge that I’ve learned. If you do make this bracelet to sell, please make sure you credit her (i.e. state that it’s ‘Jenna’s Zippy’ somewhere in the pattern).

This bracelet requires knowledge of the basic double forward and double backward knot. But if you want to advance your skills and practice the forward-backward and backward-forward knot (without the intimidation of a huge number of strings), then this is for you!

For the sake of simplicity, I will abbreviate the following knots as so:

“F.B.” = forward-backward knot
“B.F.” = backward-forward knot
Things you will need:
• A way to secure your bracelet while making (for example a clipboard, safety pin or tape)

• 6 strings, 2 colors of Embroidery floss/String

• Scissors
Step one (for the Adjustable ends)
Cut 3 strings of each of the two colors, (for a total of six strings). Make an overhand knot about 2 cm (or 0.5 inches from the beginning).

Separate the strings into 3 groups of two and braid for 6 cm / 4 inches.

Tie a second overhand knot below the braid.
The First Triangle
* Separate the strings by color: 3 strings for each color.

(Labeled in photo ‘A’ as string numbers 1–6. Strings 1–3 are on the left, 4–6 are on the right.)

Using string number 1, tie:

• One forward knot on string 2
• One forward knot on string 3
(As seen in photo B)
Using the working string (string number 1), tie a forward-backward (F.B.) knot on string 4. Then tie one backward knot on string 3.

(seen in photo C)
Then tie a B.F. knot on string number 2.

(See photo D)
The Second Triangle
Using string number 6, tie:

• One backward knot on string 5
• One backward knot on string 4

(See photo E)
Using the working string (string 6), tie a B.F. knot on string 3. Then tie one forward knot on string 4.

(See photo F)
Then tie a F.B. knot on string number 5. **

(See Photo G)

Once the second ‘triangle’ of color is complete. Repeat from the first * until ** until you’ve reached the circumference of your wrist/ankle.
Here is an image as visualizer.
Finishing With Adjustable Ties
Tie an overhand knot, then braid another 4 inches / 6 cm. Tie another overhand knot and cut your strings!
Final Notes
Your order of strings will be ‘reset’ each time to create the distinct triangles that appear on the reverse side.

Strings 1 and 2 for one color group and 5 and 6 for the other color group will be the primary ‘working’ strings in this bracelet.
