Finished 3/3/2026! I’ve been wanting to make this forever, since turtles were my college mascot! I decided to make myself a little bracelet with my graduation year to wear to an alumni event. I adapted the numbers from #78602; that pattern uses 14 strings so it wasn’t hard to cut it down to 12 and modify it because this pattern uses more of one color than another. I did a fishtail braid on all the string that was leftover at the end because I don’t know what I want to do with the tie just yet- and I can do just about anything, right now it’s twice as long as the bracelet itself. I don’t want the tie to be super long because I’m considering just turning it into a keychain, but I still want to give myself the option to wear it as a bracelet. This turned out… fine. I’ve learned that less is more when it comes to putting colors on the beginning loop. I wish I would have just made it blue. And some of my knots have noticeable spaces in between them, but I kinda don’t care. Overall, it’s a bit wonky because I was experimenting with how to do shaped bracelets without having that weird border of color that moves between the sections. There’s gotta be a cleaner way to do it, but mine works.

@kavita_art In what way did you alter the pattern so that it is not shaped or does not have unknotted strings?
