I created mine by making lark's head knots onto the side of a safety pin that doesn't open with 4 bundles of strings. I then knotted it in a round shape the same way you might make an alpha triangle end. I hope it's OK by the creator that I interpreted the pattern that way, and I hope this made sense if anyone else wanted to make it the same way!

I started it and it was pretty good but when I finished the bird was all stretched out and it looked a little weird. Cute idea but it didn't work for me.
