Pattern is made using a print pulled from Honda Unkindōs’ three textile pattern books (printed around 1902) filled with woodblock prints focusing on kimono patterns primarily created by yūzen-style clothing dyer, Ueno Siekō. Not much is known about Siekō, but the pieces were possibly dyed as far back as the early 17th century.
