@mevrouwtje@halokiwi I hope I’m formatting correctly 😭 I love lord of the rings!!! In the hobbit movie, this is the sign Gandalf puts on bilbo’s door, It’s written differently in the book, but Peter Jackson may have been inspired by a scene in the Fellowship of the Ring book where when Aragorn and the hobbits go to weathertop they find a stone with runes scratched on it that Gandalf left them as a message, one of the runes was a G, for gandalf, it looks very similar to this!
@mevrouwtje apparently jrr tolkien didn't only make up languages but also writing systems for them, but I am unable to figure out what this specific rune stands for.
