I am going to school in 1 week and this summer I've been making bracelets and alphas! I made so many so I'm bringing them to school with me. I go to a boarding school, so I live at school. I'm thinking about selling them, but what do you guys think? I'm also thinking of making some more at school, but based on what they want as well. Do you think that's a good idea? |

I don't see why not, so long as it doesn't interfere with you studies. Getting slammed with special orders can be a major time vampire... Have you ever sold them before? One thing to take into consideration is that few "normies" are going to understand the skill and the time it takes to produce our wares (and even fewer are going to be interested in us telling them so), so it's likely the price our potential customers are willing to pay is far below what we'd consider fair compensation. Never lose sight that this hobby of ours is supposed to be FUN, and we make them because we WANT to do so--if others happen to like what we produce enough to pay anything at all for them, that's just a bonus. Do your peers already know about your bracelet making? Is it a co-ed situation, or a female only/male only school? |

My school is a co-ed school. We live in houses and they are male-only female-only. There's an exception for transgender and nonbinary. |

If we're female and our hobby is already well-known amongst our peer group, probably nothing to worry about there. Proceed. However, if we're male and our knotty behavior has hitherto been our little secret, there unfortunately probably are things to take into consideration before we go public. Fair or not, most of our peers, boys and girls alike (and everyone in between), are in all likelihood going to regard bracelet making as effeminate, and best case scenario, we might be regarded as the oddball by most (if we're already unpopular, use your own discretion--it'll only pour gas on that fire). If we're cool with that, groovy. But forever being a social pariah isn't for everyone, especially when it's a glorified prison like school in which we're trapped for X-many more years, forced to interact with people from whom we cannot escape. (You'll have to forgive me if I was a little confused by your profile--I was hoping the earlier query would clear up the confusion without having to ask point blank.) |

I think that if you believe you can stay on top of everything, and if your school is okay with it, you should go ahead and do it. |

@GiuseppeK Sorry for my profile, I forgot to change it. I'm Gender-fluid. Thank you for your advice! |
