My pattern #179057 was stolen by someone on Pinterest. Not only did they avoid giving me credit they added their own watermark. This has never happened before and I have absolutely no clue what to do. Any help is highly appreciated

Do you have a link to the pin?I think there is a report function on pinterest, but I don't know what you can report things for on pinterest. In addition to reporting it, you can leave a comment explaining that it is your pattern and that it was taken without your permission. |

I did dm the account asking for the pin to be deleted but it’s been several days and still no reply. I’ll look into reporting. Thank you!!

@banankage you don't have to be a business to report your stolen content on Pinterest. I've had a similar situation where someone stole my photos from Instagram to their TikTok and deliberately edited out my watermarks. However, the user deleted the posts before my report could be processed.Just go to Report Pin > My intellectual property > This infringes my copyright (not the other option) > and then you just fill in the form. I know it might look difficult at first, but all you need to do is follow the instructions. Be sure to quote this section of the BraceletBook's Terms of Use in the description: «Any user content (material uploaded by users such as patterns, photos etc) belongs to the respective user. The original creator of the content has the copyright to it.» And it's obvious that by including their watermark into YOUR copyrighted content they pass it off as their own, which is probably another violation. |

@itarosky thank you so much! Would you know if I’m required to share my legal name and address with Pinterest in order for them to accept my report? If so I think I’d rather let it slide🥲

@banankage they do require this information, but I found out in the Pinterest policy that there is an alternative way to submit the copyright infringement report though the email address copyright@pinterest.comThey still require your full legal name as an electronic signature, but if you're uncomfortable with it, I'm sure they would process your e-mail without it. Anyway, I recommend to at least take some action. You can comment under the pin with something like "I am the original creator of this pattern. Please remove it, otherwise I will have to file a copyright infringement report" and see if it works. |
