Be advised: if you're a dog person, WHERE THE RED FERN GROWS makes OLD YELLER look like a comedy.While I wouldn't expect a young lady to get too much mileage out of it, just to contribute to the conversation, STARSHIP TROOPERS by Robert Heinlein would definitely be in my top 5 of all time (and no finer example of the importance of never judging a book by its movie). |

sunrise on the reaping. the best book. i would not recommend reading it if you want your heart to stay intact though. also, my fav stand-alone is enchantress from the stars!
