Tell me one reason why you started making friendship bracelet and for how long?

I'll go first i was once in the libeary with my mom when this lady asked me if i wanted to make bracelets with her. I said yes and she taught me how to make my first kumihimo bracelet.

that's so nice of her! I started 8 years ago, I was searching for sth to do over the summer and came across friendship bracelets on pinterest 😊 I took a break for about 5 years though so I'm super new to alphas and all the new techniques! |

It started when i was 7. My grandpa got me a set with threads and a book who teach u how to do bracelets. I tried making them but it was too diffcult. Then it was like the vsco girls trend and my cousin started making them so i went to Michaels w/ my father and got a bunch of embroidery floss... I asked my cousin how to make them and she told me to write friendship bracelets on YouTube. But then i saw the book and instead of YouTube i used the books tutorial. And that's how i started ! |

I started because my Mom mentioned friendship bracelets and I wouldn't stop asking for her to teach me how. That was about 5 years ago.

The story was: So this lady came out of the woods she wasn't even our art's and crafts teacher. But she saw a box of string and she started making bracelets i thought they were so pretty! So i asked if she can teach me, and she did it was my first candy stripe👍 I just started doing them at camp and then bought strings that's the story : D

I started making them for fun after stumbling upon a video of making some sort of bracelet. But I’ve known how to knot for a while, I just never really cared to do it until more recently. I started bracelet making up again in 2017-2018

Around 2 years ago! I had a video recommended to me from masha knots (the fishbone chevron one). I thought the pattern was so cool and I didn’t know it was even possible to create that many patterns for friendship bracelets (I thought the only 2 patterns were the candy stripe and the normal chevron) so I just had to try it out. Never stopped since ❤️

man reading all of y'alls stories,, so wholesome?? I'll b honest I don't exactly remember what got me started making bracelets? I was pretty young when I learned about friendship bracelets, I used to be on the swim team and I remember I would sometimes see them in the pool when they fell off when people swam. I was a pretty craft kid (and still am lol), I remember learning how to make the "chinese staircase pattern" and that was the only one i really understood how to make for along time lol. I tried to make chevrons and stuff, I remember my mom buying me a big pack of string from michaels or something, and me *desperately* trying to make a chevron or a candy stripe bracelet but it never ended up being anything good bc at the time, I didn't know that a knot required 2 knots //I also didn't know how youtube worked or anything haHAHA). for a while, all I could make were those gimp bracelets at summer camp, people didn't really seem to know how to make traditional friendship bracelets. idk why but around 2017-2018 I became really invested again, and I learned how to read patterns //and that knots required two knots lol// and here I am today! |

I started in a summer about 8 years ago, but I quit. Three years later he made another type of bracelet in the school workshop. Then I did it again about two and a half ago, but it is a bit crazy because there are not many videos in Spanish and I have to repeat parts of the video very often since I do not understand it very well
