so for shaped bracelets, you only knot certain strings together. I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense but if you give me a certain pattern, I might be able to explain it better

ok so you start out by knotting the 2 middle strings together, and then the 4 middle strings together and keep going until you have a triangle. Then, for the bottom, on each row, you will leave the 2 outermost out and knot the inner strings together. For the next row, leave the 4 outermost strings out of knotting (2 on each side) and so on until you've finished the upside down triangle. I hope this helps!

@BandGeek22 I really think it would be easier to start with the simple diamond/circle bracelet first. The video is on #8489 (just don't pay attention to the alpha pattern) and practice with scrap strings.That one might make it seem a lot easier. I made the pattern you mentioned and it's tricky remembering which strings to keep switching forward and backward. The video on pattern #23580 explains it well. 🙂

You basically just make triangle ends over and over. You start the bracelet with a triangle end, make your diamond shape, then make a triangle end for the bottom of your diamond. Then you just repeat! As long as you know how to make triangle ends it's pretty simple. Hope this helps!! 😊
