So way back when she was in school, there was a chapter of a story in my mom's English textbook which really intrigued her, but she can't remember the author or the title, just a vague outline of the incident.So now I'm just putting this out there, and hopefully someone knows whet this is from. OK, so there's this guy, and he was staying at this Inn. He's lying in one of those four-poster beds, and there's this painting of a guy with a hat. He notices that there are 2 feathers in the hat. Anyway, he lies down and tries to go to sleep. The light gets dimmer, he feels tired, but still not quite asleep. He glances at the painting and realises he can't see the feathers anymore. He realises the canopy of his bed is lowering. He just gathers his wits enough to roll off the bed just before he would've been smothered. This is all I have to work with; if you know of anything similar pls lemme know |
