@happyrobin Well, if you enjoyed the game and don't want to wait for a physical copy (and don't mind squaring off with a perfect stranger), perhaps I could intrigue you to join up at the Internet Scrabble Club (isc.ro)? They've got the best setup I've ever found.

You can find me there as GiuseppeZ, and you have my word I won't cheat (although I'm totally cool with others doing so to me), and if you're a novice, I'll help you get your bearings. Then again, I haven't played in months, so I'm probably more than a little rusty myself...

No pressure or anything; just extending the invitation to anyone interested in an *actual* game of some description.

@Sana_M You're a daisy if you do.

(And I've at least *heard of* TGCF.)

@GiuseppeK ohh I see 👀, do you, perhaps, read a lot of books as well?

Since you like the game scrabble, I’m guessing you like reading or writing maybe <;

@Sana_M In the off-chance your fandom includes him, I'd channel Dr. Egon Spengler and deadpan in response "Print is dead."

While I've read my share of books, I know I should really make the time to get more reading done--I've got shelves full of tomes, but most of my "reading" these past couple years has tended to be audiobooks while rowing (if I can't follow the plot, it's a sign I'm pushing too hard. @ruru2008, I endured about an hour into ANNA KARENINA and had to throw in the towel--couldn't keep track of everyone while puffing and panting...). A little less than a third of the way through THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO, and diggin' it immensely.

When it comes to writing, I wouldn't exactly say I have any passion for it, but in all modesty I seem to have a genuine knack for it. After a long military career in which I've written enough words to stock my own library, lacking anything better to do, I took my GI bill and attended university in Japan (so I've certainly known my share of weebs). I understand it's pretty much unheard of, but I managed to score so well on the reading/writing assessment exam that I was waived from any required classes in those departments (math, well... That was another story). Even more unheard of, I found myself tapped to be a paid writing tutor during my first semester. Hey, beer money's beer money.

(Hopefully not oversharing, but you *did* inquire. That, and as I'm confident you're aware from you psych background, lonely boys like to talk.)

@Selah_Ross The above invitation is open to anyone here.

I warn you, however--if we agree on the setting in which we have the option of challenging each other's plays (typically, I just let the dictionary automatically make the ruling if it's a valid play or not--saves everyone unnecessary arguments), not all of those down-home Southern words are gonna fly. 😜
