If memory serves, it would've almost certainly been a very iffy basic chevron; ugly as sin and full of mistakes, but finally completed. My favorite ex (the one who taught me how to make these things in the first place) had a keychain with all my previous aborted efforts on a ring. It was a small gift to her, of course. Doing my best to make it a romantic gesture, I wanted each color to represent something to her, as it pertained to us. In spite of long spans of deployment (desert tan) and oceans between us (blue), every once in a while our colors would still manage to touch. (I know, I know: 🤮) |

I learned candy stripe and Chinese staircase at about the same time at summer camp but I don’t remember which one was first, then I learned chevron a year or so later at camp again then fell in love with making bracelets and made like fifty copies of #14715
