Or really anything to do with the lgbt+ comunity!
Please don't argue ❤️

p.s. I said "queers" in the title because that is how I identify, but if you don't use that term it's ok!

hii! I identify as a lesbian (she/her) and we've been learning about the lgbtq movement in history class, and its been really interesting !! My history teacher also brought up a lawsuit that was filed against our school district regarding transgender rights so umm 🤔

@slin I'd love to learn more about the gays in school! Must be interesting. Unfortunately the kids in my class use the F-slur as a term of endearment, so I don't think it would go over to well 😅

@ panda4eva2 Yepp im pretty lucky to live in a very democratic area compared to other places in the world that wanna erase our history and pretend we've never existed. I hear a lot of kids at my highschool say that's so gay in like a derogatory way which is so messed up. Honestly I'm surprised how progressive my history teacher is since she's also Christian which sometimes clashes. This kinda reminds me of the "That's so Gay" campaign that Wanda Sykes and Hillary Duff did. Also random fun fact: didn't know until a while back that the ceo of apple Tim cook is gay

Hey guys! I had a question on how to deal with homophobia. A lot of people at my school use the word gay as an insult and I'm not sure if I should tell them to stop or just let them be? I mean it's not really gonna change anything by saying anything to them, so idk what to do, and I don't really want them to ask questions about my sexuality. :/

@YetiTea I would just let them be. It's not your job to inform people if you aren't comfortable. The only way they might stop is if they get educated about how harmful it is to say that, and they will probably take it better from an authority figure. I think that if it truely bothers you, maybe suggest a lesson about it to your history/social studies teacher?
