I don’t think anyone can control who they are attracted to, and I think God just wants us to be kind, right? It’s fine to quietly dislike someone, but to go out and hate on them for being themselves is wrong. I don’t think you are a bad person for choosing not to interact with certain people, and I think we all need to just focus on being kind to one another.

@Selah_Ross Well, the word homophobia actually means "dislike" or "prejudice" against LGBTQ+ people. And there aren't many places teaching young kids about LGBTQ, and there are plenty of kids who end up switching gender at a young age. I did. There's nothing wrong with telling people about it, it's just making other people aware of the fact that we all get to pick our gender. There are also plenty of teachers out there that are religious and tell the kids all about their own religion, etc. I think both sides need to accept that fact that no, not everyone is religious, and it's not a terrible thing if you aren't. Every time I tell someone I'm not religious I get religion forced on me over and over, every single time. And sure, there are some crazy LGBTQ people out there but I do not believe it is too hard to accept that it exists and that it always will. Same with relegion. There is no reason to fight over it, you can dislike the word homophobia, but it is still the correct term if you think about it. And the endings of words don't always mean the exact same thing! "phobia" can mean a lot of different things, it is a multiple meaning word! I think we could all be happy is we all just accepted the fact that religion and LGBTQ+ exists, you don't even have to say "I'm fine with it, but I don't agree with it" because no matter what, it will cause a fight. Hope your having a good day ❤️

@Selah_Ross the word homophobia doesn’t mean exactly as its roots mean. A lot of words in english are like taht! If you hate/are against gay people than you are homophobic, it doesn’t mean ur scared of them. Everyone knows that.

@Selah_Ross I absolutely agree with @BabyWren12 explanation on the word. For example my mom is homophobic, but she's not scared of gay people she just doesn't like them. I know many of you believe that not approving of LGBTQ individuals is fine to you, but that's a form of discirimination. It's exactly the same as not like someone because of their race (racism) of gender (sexism). I know that might seem like an exaggeration but that's the truth. Also your trying to point out that we don't like when religion is being preached to us (ex:jehovah witness) but people in the LGBTQ community aren't shoving our agenda down your throat like religious people. Obviously, there are some people who do but the majority of us just want to be ourselves. Personally, I have never had any LGBTQ person try to convince me to be gay or transgender, etc., but so many people at my church have made efforts to evangailize me, even though it crosses my boundaries. All LGBTQ people want are rights to be themselves, have the right to marry, be protected by the government. We aren't trying to "brainwash" or "convince" children, and if people are its a small minority, If you think about it, we live in a straight world, where the straight agenda has been shoved down our throats since birth. Almost all movies have couples that are straight, and only 9% of people in the world identify as LGBTQ. I didn't learn about the LGBTQ community until I was much older and grew up christian, yet i'm still a lesbian which proves that people will still be who they are, no matter how they are raised. I understand your concern for many kids being exposed to the topic of LGBTQ as youth, and I actually agree with you. I believe that kids shouldn't be taught this until at least middle school, but to be fair, prayer shouldn't be taught in school either. I don't think anybody should be forced to live in a fake identity, and that they get to decide who they are as an individual. As Lady Gaga says, No matter gay, straight, or bi, lesbian, transgender life, I’m on the right track, baby, I was born to survive.

@slin What if we disapprove of a k!ller (idk if things get censored) bc he k!lls ppl, but he is black. Am I (a chinese girl) considered racist? What if we don't like someone because of their lifestyle. I feel like freedom of speech is good, when it's PEACEFUL, for both sides. Once again, I feel like both sides should share their stories, but with no forcing of beliefs for either side. My question is, if a preacher goes to a pride parade and preaches about God, and isn't touching or harming anything, and a person attending or performing at the parade yanks out the microphone cables, is that right? Freedom of speech, for both sides, is peaceful. Also, why has being LGBTQ just started getting big. when my mom was in high school, there were so very few people in the community. Also, I wanted to make sure you know I'm not trying to be rude or mean, and I sincerely hope you have a great day! ❤️ @BobTheCat_ @BabyWren12 y'all got anything to add/say?

@Selah_Ross yes people can be homophobic and not hate gay people! Most people don’t but some do and they still fall under the umbrella of being homophobic bc they are against gay people. This is just the term that we as a society have chosen. No one thinks ur scared of gay people. And lots of words don’t mean what their root words are. But you ARE homophobic and i’m sorry if u don’t like being called as such. This is the definition taht came up when i googled it: having or showing a dislike of or prejudice against gay people. Can I please see ur sources that say that gay people are brainwashing young children? I personally don’t think we should force any sexuality on anyone when they are young. I agree with @slin completely. Even if i do not agree with it we need to support the minorities and make sure that they have fair rights. Because people have different beliefs than me but that doesn’t mean that i should force my beliefs on them. Also that analogy with a black k!ller is not good. You would be against him for his actions not his race so no you would not be racist. It’s in the word. If ur racist/sexist/homophobic then it means you have a prejudice variant them FOR that reason. Race/sex/queer identity |

@BabyWren12 i do not try forcing my beliefs on other ppl, and is it wrong to not completely like someone because of their beliefs? also i dont support lgbtq bc of their actions, just like my analogy. Also, with the gay forcing kids, there are schools that read books completely lgbtq oriented to kindergarteners or older.

@BobTheCat_ @BabyWren12 @slin @Dis_abled this is my final message on this particular form unless someone trys to attack me, but to be clear I love any person, i just might not love their beliefs. That's okay, and thats okay for you as well, to not like someone's belief as long as you don't attack them for it. I have said my piece, and i know some of y'all strongly disagree with me, and some of you agree with me, but i'm going back to making bracelet patterns, and I hope y'all have a great rest of your day. If you tag me, i will still read it, but i feel like this has kinda spiraled for me, so off to make another pattern ❤️

@BabyWren12 Thank you for being the voice of reason and trying to explain the meaning of homophobia. I really appreciate your well spoken responses!@Selah_Ross I could go on and on about this topic, but I understand you don't want to respond to this form anymore. I respect your decision and hope you have a nice day. |
