hi just thought id join the convo but i dont have the patience to read all if this to catch up to whats beings said im sure its all good things.

not interacting with lgbtq people does not make you a bad person at all!
as a member of the Lgbtq+ community i think i can speak for a lot of us when i say we prefer to be left alone rather than judged or mocked, and it means so much to get a smile or wave. small things like that can do great things for anyone whos feeling down, and not just the lgbtq community.
we tend to try and hide our faces more than others because we're scared of judgement and of what friends and or family will say.
i was born into a strictly Mormon family and it as been quit the journey coming to terms with my sexuality, let alone my gender. my parents are not supportive and actually very against the lgbtq+ community, which lead to me isolating myself from my family. im so greatful for my siblings and friends that helped me through this, even if they weren't there with me, just knowing that they love, appropriate, and support me was enough.
as long as your not trying to harm any of us in any way we wont feel offended or hurt by you.
whether you interact or not is up to you.
you don't have to show any signs of yousupport,rt for us.
there are a ton of great people out ther that dont show their support, and to be honest, we just want people to act normal around us, to treat us like people.
so as long as your not showing hatred and disgust toward us, theres a good chance (and i dont mean to be rude) that we wont notice you either😊
always spread love to those who need it and stay awear of everyone!

@Kkaylee couldn't have said it better! I also come from a religious background, and unfortuantely almost all of my family members are homophobic. Many of us are deep in the closet, so please simply treat everyone with respect and kindness!

@slin respect and kindness are both so so so important! its importent to respect peoples personal boundaries and i know a lot of us get those violated because of people getting in our faces and telling us we're going to hell. i have seen my own mother do this, and it really hurts to see someone, like myself, a potential friend or mentor, get beat up by someone that is suppised to love and support you!
unfortunately i was not blessed with that kind of mom

@Kkaylee Same, and it really sucks that many people, including myself face this type of hatred from our own family members. I don't know why this is so contorverisal, but you should only have kids if you unconditionally love them. It's so sad for parents to take away their love from you just because you identify a certain way. Stay strong!

@slin i 100% agree!
and the fact that people like us have been around since forever and people still have the audacity to treat us with hatred, like we're problem, and like we're broken is honestly scary.
some of the most amazing people in history werepart of the lgbtq+ community!
history would not be the same without those people. they literally changed history!!

@Dis_abled sorry, it appears i have been misinterpreted again. I was very apprehensive posting what i did and made sure to read it several times to make sure i phrased everything right. I guess i didn't, but i'd just rather not discuss this. I have gotten distracted from the one and only thing i should be doing on this website, making bracelets.

@BobTheCat_ I think @Dis_abled didn't take it the wrong way at all and their reaction was completely valid. I definitely find your response offensive and disrespectful. You definitely phrased your sentence in a very passive-aggresive tone, and tried to blame us like we read it wrong. You can't seriously think this sentence doesn't offend anyone: "Unless you hate them for no reason other than their life choices, you are not a bad person." You shouldn't be hating us in the first place. You are hiding behind and your religion and using it as an excuse to hate us. If someone from the LGBTQ community has not ever did any wrong to you, why do you view them as the enemy. You say you aren't homophobic but hating us seems like it.Then after that he swears he isn't a homophobe. You can't respect and hate us at the same time, it's one or the other. And from your response on the forum, I think we can tell which one it is. Please don't pretend to "accept" us when you don't. Also @Dis_abled is one of the kindest ppl I know, so please just try not to hurt people who've never harmed you. Everyone deserves love and kindness.

@Kkaylee Exactly we made so much progress as a community especially when marriage equality was passed in the obergefell v. hodge case. I'm so scared all of the work we put in during the past is being erased and reversed. We deserve to be treated like everyone else and its so sad to see almost half of America disagree.

@slin I'm sorry for offending you, but i still believe what i believe. That being said, i definitely phrased some things wrong and DO NOT HATE YOU!!!! I love you and respect you as a person. You said that i'm hiding behind my religion as a reason to hate, but actually my religion calls me to love all people. This is as much as i am going to say, as i've said in my previous confrontations before, i should only be doing what this website is made for, making bracelets.

@BobTheCat_ i understand what you mean, and know that most religions do call for you to love all people.
the thing is that a lot of people from those religions dont take that calling seriously. i agree that your comments were offensive because you should never hate someone for anything! but i also know everyone makes mistakes and you probably didnt mean for it to be taken that way. and you can disagree with someone without hating them, but there are a lit of things that can be taken the wrong way if not phrased correctly.
