4 or 5. They’re a ten but they like the movies better than the books.

Might just make her an 11. Not simply a matter of opinion, it's a sign she can think for herself without feeling the pressure to parrot any performative dogmas such as the book *always* being better. Just off the top of the head, the cinematic versions of THE GREEN MILE, THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION and FIRST BLOOD were all better than their literary roots. Depending on our individual tastes, that might go for the earlier Bond movies, as well.

S/he's a 10, but sleeps in a casket.

I do some of my best proofreading after hitting reply.

DIE HARD was also better than the book (NOTHING LASTS FOREVER by Roderick Thorp). 👍

2, that’s creepy. They’re a ten but you have nothing in common .

I hang my head in shame to have somehow completely forgotten THE PRINCESS BRIDE as another great example of the movie genuinely beating the book.

Of course, "better" is subjective, but considering how universally beloved the movie adaption is (I firmly believe people can be boiled down into two basic categories: those who love TPB, and those who haven't seen it yet), the humor of the book would probably be lost on a whole lot of modern readers. The movie was also much kinder to the titular Buttercup--her original literary version was an utterly vapid, one-dimensional ditz.

(Last one of these out of me, I promise. Over and out.)
