do people around you expect nothing less than perfect from you. so much so that you've turned into someone else...and you're not a big fan of that person?

Sorta... I am the youngest of four, and my oldest brother got a 36 on the ACT and my sister got like a really good score and my other brother is known as "the perfect one". And I have to live up to all that. All of my teachers know my siblings to, and when I meet someone they're like "oh! Your related to them!! You must be perfect!!" And... I'm not.

i see what you mean...even though i don't have older siblings, being related to successful people kinda pressures you to be the same and doesn't leave room for you to be....well..... you

Unfortunately yes. I became a people pleaser masker for most of my life. I only felt validated through my grades and work ethic and lost my sense of identity once I burned out. Didn’t know who I was outside of what I thought was expected of me. It getters better though.

Honestly, I’ve felt things simular to Martha9999, but I fell like it’s mostly me putting the pressure on myself. It would be quite nice if I could stop doing that 😅
