request for a tutorial on how to start a tapestry sized pattern

I want to make a friendship bracelet pattern I found but I don't want it to do a bracelet. its 78 strings wide and I want it to be something I can hang on my wall or something. idk what kind of string I should use for this or how to start it so it keeps a straight edge on all sides. embroidery floss seems like it would be to small. also is there a name for this type or craft?

I would suggest attaching your basestrings to a dowel using larks head knots: https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/127_the-larks-head-knot/You can tie it like any other alpha pattern. Embroidery floss can definitely be used. I would not recommend using anything thicker than that. |
