Do you happen to have any references? There are different styles/models of hearing aids. 🙂

A cochlear implant is technically a hearing aid. There are different kinds of hearing aids. Since a cochlear implant helps you hear, it’s a type of hearing aid!

@rz *Technically* cochlear implants are not hearing aids. 'hearing aids' refer to a specific device of technology for the outer and middle ear. A cochlear implant sends sounds past the damaged part of the ear straight to the hearing nerve, called the cochlear nerve.https://masseyeandear.org/treatments/cochlear-implants#:~:text=A%20cochlear%20implant%20is%20a,children%20who%20were%20born%20deaf. "A cochlear implant is a bionic ear. Rather than send sound to your ear like a hearing aid, the cochlear implant sends sound directly to your nerves of the inner ear. It helps you if who have the greatest amount of - hearing loss when hearing aids aren’t able to make sounds loud and clear enough." - - - - https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/cochlear-implants/about/pac-20385021 "A cochlear implant is an electronic device that improves hearing. It can be a choice for people who have severe hearing loss from inner-ear damage and can't hear well with hearing aids. A cochlear implant sends sounds past the damaged part of the ear straight to the hearing nerve, called the cochlear nerve. For most people with hearing loss that involves the inner ear, the cochlear nerve works. But the nerve endings, called hair cells, in the part of the inner ear called the cochlea, are damaged." |
