So, I am new to alphas. Granted, I am still learning how to read them. While looking at pattern #105394, I notice that between rows 13 - 62, there are these gaps between the rows. Like row 35 - 41, the dark green string on the right does not connect with the pink string next to it. Is this done to signal when a new color change is in? I am very confused.

To avoid gaps, I recommend using the flat alpha technique. MashaKnots has a good video on it. It's very beginner friendly and also explains how to read alpha patterns in general.

That's not what I am talking about. I was trying to say, looking at rows 35 - 41, there is a weird gap between the dark green and pink string. Like there is no string connecting them together. It just stops.

Yeah, that's the structure of alpha patterns. Unless you use the flat alpha technique (or similar techniques) there is nothing connecting color changes.

Sorry, I should have explained it more clearly.

It's ok! I get why it seemed confusing at first.
