hi, i really want to start designing my own normal patterns but i absolutely don't know where to start.. I know what type of patterns and colors i like but i can't manage to do anything concrete with it. especially as I'm having trouble using the creating space on the website.do you have some tips ? 😭 |

people like @julofi, @halokiwi, and @KrazyKnotz are really good at making normal patterns. As for me, I literally choose the colors I like, and with a rough draft in my head, fiddle with the knots until it turns out how I want it 😂 😭

You can take a piece of graph paper and make a sketch of your intended pattern. Then you figure out how the strings need to move in order to make it work. Once you figured that out, you can put it into the generator. https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/34_designing-normal-patterns/ To get a feeling of how the generator and normal patterns work in general, you can also play around a little with the generator to get a better feeling for it. |
